Some years ago I began consciously looking at the world through a single filter:
Did what I was paying attention to bring me joy?
Once I made this choice, I was startled at how many things I'd let creep into my thinking and behavior which were draining, exhausting and restrictive.
Unproductive work habits...
Less than rewarding workouts...
Professional and Social alliances that did not honor a higher purpose...
Spiritual practices that were still based in fear or scarcity...
Relationship behaviors that kept intimacy at bay...
I had enough...
And chose a new direction of Focus...
At first it was a challenge, as the momentum of my past thoughts and actions pulled at me to solve problems, struggle needlessly, or be dramatic without cause...
But I felt the inner shift right away...
And the evidence began to quickly stack up showing me that I'd made the right choice.
Since making the choice to focus relentlessly on Joy, and only accept into my experience those aspects of life which brought more energy and allowed more positive engagement with the future I had decided to make real...
The results have been spectacular.
